Laboratory Presses

OEM Press Systems has engineered a Research and Development press with vacuum lamination capability for the manufacture of small format products.  This press features all the processing capabilities offered by larger format presses but requires less floorspace and consumes less utilities. 

Our goal is to provide you with every innovative design feature that can contribute to the success of your development work.  Furthermore, we want to facilitate your growth and eventual transition from development to production work.  With this in mind a number of the key design features this press will include features and capabilities also included in production scale press systems.  These features include:

Full Vacuum Enclosure for complete removal of entrapped air and volatiles -
OEM’s welded vacuum chamber comes with guaranteed leak-free.  Our presses are equipped with highly reliable rotary vane vacuum pumps, which are capable of fully evacuating the press chamber within approx. 4 minutes, and can maintain constant vacuum of 29.3 Hg during the lamination process.

Even pressure application across the entire product area -
OEM’s exclusive Vac-Q-Lam press design uses four double-acting cylinders to close the press and apply even pressure across the entire platen surface area.  The double-acting cylinder design gives you far superior control of your hydraulic pressure during the ramping up and ramping down of the pressure on your product.  A sophisticated hydraulic unit with a closed loop pressure control system incorporating a pressure transducer and electronic proportional control valve will allow you to accurately program your pressure setpoint.

Accurate temperature control -
OEM’s goal is to provide optimum temperature uniformity across the entire platen area.  Utilizing either Electric Calrod Heating with Water Cooling or Thermal Fluid Heating and Cooling our goal is to offer precise control of this critical process variable. 

OEM’s Electrically Heated Platen is designed to feature multiple temperature control zones for maximum uniformity of temperature across the platen surface.  Each control zone has a platen thermocouple that feeds back to the temperature controllers so that we have instantaneous responses necessary to ensure accurate temperature control.

Compact Design -
OEM’s Lab Press design is extremely compact and space saving.  The press electrical control panel is mounted on the side of the press and everything is pre-wired, tested and debugged at the factory allowing for quick and easy installation. 

Full data gathering, historical trending and data download capability through the OEM Advantage Computer Control system
OEM Advantage Computer Controls software offer full ten (10) segment recipe programming capability along with historical trending and data download capability.  Recipes can be controlled based on time intervals or product temperature
